Orange and Date Chutney

2 large oranges
1 and 1/2 lbs dates
2 large red onions
1 Clove garlic
1/2 lbs raisins
1 cup grade B maple syrup
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp grated ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
5 lemons juice and pulp
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp nutmeg

Grate one orange skin; peel the others and remove the white
pith. Dice them and grind along in a food processor with the
ungrateful orange peels, dates, onions, garlic and raisins.
Meanwhile mix lemon juice, maple syrup, salt, chili powder,
ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Bring to a boil and cook 5
minutes. Lower heat and simmer for 1 hour. When cool, bottle
and store in a cold place.
